I am learning that Americans are generally quite
self-centered and do not usually rely on others, but mainly on themselves and, possibly,
on a very reduced number of people.
The idea of having to face the World essentially
alone is deeply entrenched in their minds.
This makes the house the core of their life. Often, it is an inaccessible private space,
filled with all the necessary comforts to avoid going out.
