The rear entrance

I've always been attracted by dark and narrow alleys. I want to know where they go, what is going on at the end, but even more, from which reality I am being pulled apart.

Now I am part of that unknown, mysterious  world where the alleys end.

Lemon ginger

It is said to be stress-relieving and reviving ...the ginger flavor is really pungent though...but I like having one before going to sleep.

Stranger

Among the several pictures included into the 'Strangers' project by the photographer Matias Costa, there is one that particularly captures my attention. It shows strangers coming out at night, hiding among shadows. They seem shadows themselves, strange shadows though.

Are you strange when you feel like a stranger?

Washington, a view

I was hypnotized by the building in front of our bedroom's window. I could see two massive walls of transparencies. I imagined the every-day-life-at-work slide show projected on the facade of our hotel.

That shape followed me throughout the whole city then.

Americans

I am learning that Americans are generally quite self-centered and do not usually rely on others, but mainly on themselves and, possibly, on a very reduced number of people.
The idea of having to face the World essentially alone is deeply entrenched in their minds.

This makes the house the core of their life. Often, it is an inaccessible private space, filled with all the necessary comforts to avoid going out.

Time to rest

This place is really challenging me with opposite feelings, contrasting thoughts.
But sometimes it's best not to say anything. To stop thinking and rest.

A Haiku

I glanced up and saw
thousand perfumed flakes of Snow.
I recalled Yuko.

Yuko Akita had two passions, Haiku and snow.

Alice in Wonderland

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

The pond

There was such a beautiful light and the whole scene just remembered me the paintings of Waterhouse or Millais.

I sat down quietly, waiting for Ophelia or the Lady of Shalott.
