Zodiac heads

2013 is the year of the snake according to the Chinese Zodiac. I happen to be a snake.
I've read that according to a Chinese legend, there is a reason for the order of the 12 animals in the 12 year cycle. The story goes that a race was held to cross a great river, and the order of the animals in the cycle was based upon their order in finishing the race. In this story, the snake compensated for not being the best swimmer by hitching a hidden ride on the horses hoof, and when the horse was just about to cross the finish line, jumping out, scaring the horse, and thus edging it out for sixth place.

I am wondering, am I of that kind?

The Scudder Plaza

A beautiful princess, in red, was waiting for someone that wouldn't come.
I could see her castle in the middle of the pond. Nobody seemed to be aware that she needed to be freed.

The town

Walking Princeton's streets you may suddenly be struck by creepy visions from other centuries.

The Public Library

This is the very first place, at Princeton, where I felt welcome and at ease. When I barely knew anyone, it was my daily amusement. Its innumerable books, spread all over the three floors, the countless dvds and audio-books were a sort of the first close friends I made here.

Always when I go there, I can still feel the same excitement I had when, as a child, my parents took me to the kid's store for a gift.

Shadow and Light

I was surely impressed by the B&W photograph of a lamppost by Bill Brandt, which is now being used to advertise an exhibition at MOMA.

It was that lamppost I was probably looking for, but I inevitably ended up with my own one.
